Here they are on the day they were born - 10th January 2022. They are mainly black at this age and for a little while yet. Their markings develop as they get older. If you check the pictures from other litters on this site you will see what I mean.

They don't do much at this age except eat and sleep but here they are on day four.

They still don't do much until their eyes open except suckle and grow. Their colour also gradually develops. This is day eight.

Here they are on day 11. They have not opened their eyes yet but they will do any time now.

Although they are asleep in this photo on day 13 their eyes have opened now. When they are not asleep they move around a lot.

When they are not asleep their eyes are now open. When they first open their eyes have a bluish tinge but within a few days they become the normal dark brown colour.

Here they are on day 17. One is having a yawn. It is so tiring sleeping all the time.

As you can see there is a bit more activity now. Here they are on day 19. Soon it will be more difficult to take pictures because they will be moving a lot more. In fact they started to eat independently today drinking goats' milk and eating some finely chopped minced beef. In a week or so there will be no stopping them.

They are getting a little bit more lively now and will grow quite fast once they get the hang of eating independently. At first it is very messy - feet in the food etc - but they soon get the hang of it.

Here they are on day 23. As you can see it is now getting a little bit more difficult to get them all clearly because at any one time there is a good chance that one or more will be moving. They do now get steadily more active (in bursts at any rate).

Here are two pups on day 26. You can see from what they are doing that it will now be difficult to take a photo of them all together because at any one time several are likely to be moving. You can also just see that they now have teeth.

One pup looking directly at camera on day 28. They have just eaten two pounds of meat at one meal and drunk some goats' milk. At the moment they get four meals a day and their mother feeds them at night.

Here they are on day 29 at 6 am this morning. This time they are eating lamb's tripe.

Here they are on day 33. An adult dog normally occupies this but the puppies are taking it over.

They are rarely all now in the same place. This is most of them on day 39.
